Description

Creation of a bootable Projekt CD/DVD for the Installation of the complete System

Idea:

A person gets the CD/DVD and ist able to setup the whole system by inserting the CD and starting the PC.

• Create CD/DVD based on the current project results. A configuration tool is needed for this step.

• Boot from CD/DVD.

• Install Linux, vdr, and all extensions.

• The system is ready for usage.

Video encoding/decoding (MPEG,...)

Integration of currently available Video Encoders/Decoders into the project and/or integration of new components. Here we make use of the plugin-architecture of the vdr-project.

Important:

These results need to be integrated into our system family! New features must be described and made available in our configuration utility.

Extension and consolidation of the Palm-User-Interface

The Palm-User-Interface is already described in a diploma thesis. Here, the consolidation of this work and possible extensions are part of the new work.

• Electronic Program Guide on the Palm.

Authoring of Video-CDs, DVDs, ...

Integration of Video-CD and DVD authoring capabilities into the system. Here we make use of another work in this project, „Detection of Commercials“

• Burn own Video-CDs and DVDs.

• Incremental burning of TV series.

• Managing own camcorder videos.
